Parent/Teacher Conference #2

We attended our second parent/teacher conference of the school year. Thankfully, the overall report was good. He has improved in the couple areas of concern from the first conference and is sailing right along in learning his letters and numbers.

We found out that Jase listens to the teachers (thankfully, cause he does not listen to us), puts toys and books away when finished playing/reading (things he does not do at home), and does not know his address (he does know this). I guess from the looks on our faces the teacher could tell that we were surprised by the information she just shared with us. She proceeds to tell me, in a joking but serious way, that I(we) need to work on discipline at home. HELLO, we are taking the Effective Parenting class being taught by her husband. And, yes I did say this to her. Anyway, Jase listens but like to talk. He and his friend at school have been seperated but still like to chat it up from across the room. I guess he has a lot to say.

So, other than the fact that Jason and I need to work on discipline techniques or lack thereof and Jase is a little chatty at school, the conference was a success. The months of April and May are filled with field trips for Jase's class; Jason and I will be going on a couple of the trips. Can't wait!

Stay tuned for our discipline stuggles and all the other little mini-dramas that occur. :)
