Happy Thanksgiving!

We've successfully crossed one more "to-do" off of our NYC bucket list: Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade! I cannot say how happy we are that we did this. The weather was not frigid and we had an awesome view. Jase was able to stand on the rail and get high five's from the parade participants and Cole had an unblocked view from the top of Jason's shoulders.

I hope the boys remember this day and how excited they were to see the balloons. Spiderman and Buzz Lightyear were their favorites. Jason and I were just as excited as the boys. This was an awesome experience.

Here are just a few pictures. I did take more but way too many to post here. I leave you with Santa and a family shot. Enjoy!

Happy Thanksgiving from NYC! (For the last time. :/)

Happy Thanksgiving Eve

Today I was busy in the kitchen and I have to say I loved every minute of it. There were no major catastrophes - nothing caught fire or exploded and no tears were shed. It was a successful day! As promise, here are the pictures.

My first ever pie crust! It was edible, a little too thin, but otherwise perfect for my first time!

My little sous-chef preparing the pumpkin filling. Isn't his smile great?!

Ready for dinner!

I absolutely loved cooking for my little family...looking forward to cooking my first Christmas dinner! After dinner and a little relaxation went when to Thanksgiving services at church. We will be spending our last Thanksgiving in NY at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade tomorrow! Better get my tired self to bed - we'll be on the 6AM ferry..eek!

Will The Real Me Please Stand Up?

I have no idea what has come over me. I am cooking. More than I ever have. If you think I'm puzzled you should talk to Jason. He's confused. Poor guy doesn't know if he should be excited or disappointed.

This past weekend while sick I was watching Food Network and got a hair brained idea that I would cook Thanksgiving dinner for the four of us. I cooked up (pun intended) a menu that looks a little something like this:

Turkey
Stuffing
Gravy
Sweet Potato Casserole*
Peas*
Cranberry Sauce
Pumpkin Pie
Rolls

*Jason loves these two dishes. He cooks them the way his Maw Maw does - I am hoping that I cook Maw Maw's recipes to Jason's satisfaction.

Not only did I decide I would cook I also decided that I would do all of this from scratch. Well everything except the rolls and pumpkin. What was I thinking? Must of been the multiple doses of that awful Tylenol multi-symptom cold medicine I was choking down that affected my frame of mind. Must of been.

So I sit here hoping and praying that my dinner plans go as visioned. Here's to nothing catching fire, exploding, burning, or anyone crying or getting mad. The latter is me, of course. I will post pictures of my fest, if and only if, there are no major catastrophes.

Happy Thanksgiving! Hope you spend your day with loved ones and remembering everyone and everything you have to be thankful for.

This family growing??

That's right, talks are ongoing about whether or not we should expand our little family. The boys are growing ever so fast - Jase will soon be 5 years old and Cole, the baby, is not a baby anymore. Jason and I have said more than once that our family is complete but now we are having second thoughts. Jase, out of the blue one day, asked me this: "Mom, are you and dad going to get a new baby when I get a little bigger?" Could have knocked me over with a feather. He said he's ready for a baby but he wants 3 babies. One baby, maybe. Three babies, NO WAY! As for Cole, well he needs this baby more than anyone else. This baby will give him a run for his money.

So now you are in the know. We are talking about adding just one more to our family. I'm still not 100 percent sure and Jason is not 100 percent sure - combined we're sure. So sit back and check back to see what the verdict is. Until then here is a glimpse of what we're hoping our new little one looks like...

Isn't he going to be adorable!!!!
