Help!

Jase will not pee in the potty. I am seriously beginning to wonder when he will officially be potty trained.

For petty reasons of my own, I am so ready for him to be the big boy that he is. I am tired of doing laundry every single day of the week. I am tired of every room of our apartment smelling like pee, as it is hard to find all the places he decides to pee. Well, not every room but I smell pee all the time. I even smell it in my sleep. ;) Some kids have a special spot in which they go to do their business. Not Jase, he just goes where ever he feels the need.

I keep thinking back to what our pediatrician in Texas said. He said 3 and a half. 3 and a half and Jase should be potty trained. Well, he's almost there. I keep thinking about what all the "experts" say, not to potty train when big changes and goings on are happening. So, with all the freaking changes and goings on that keep occurring in our lives, when are we supposed to potty train? He started showing interested before we left Texas. Not to long after we got settled in New York, I was certain we were officially potty trained. Wrong. Between visitors (which we love!) and moving for the 30th time in a year, Jase has too much going on. Jason and I have too much going on. But I refuse to use this as an excuse. I refuse. I also to refuse to say that he is not ready because I know he is.

I wish someone would tell me what to do. Someone that has potty trained boys and someone who understands how distractable and unfocused boys can be. I try not to get frustrated but I do because I know he can do this.

We are about to begin our first "vacation" of the summer. I am torn between letting Jase wear underwear or putting him in a pull up for the flights. I don't want to do the pull up because then he will not tell us he needs to go and he'll just go in the pull up. I don't want to do underwear because he won't tell us and he'll just go in his underwear. What do I do??! I(we're) leaning toward the pull up for the sake of accidents and the need to change clothes.

I hope and pray Jase will get the hang of this soon, for his sake...and my sanity. :)

Happy Birthday Cole!

He's 1!

"Yes, I'm 1!"

We had a little party for Cole on his birthday. He got his very own cake and loved it!

"Yummy cake!"

I am still finding it hard to believe that Cole is one year old already! The first year of his life definitely flew by. He was a busy baby from the day he was born! Thankfully, he was a trooper during all the traveling and goings on from day one!

This is what Cole did anytime we went anywhere! He is 2 months old in this picture.

I leave you with our latest family photo, taken the day of Cole's birthday. Naturally, in our family photos someone will not be looking at the camera! Today it was Jase!

One Year Ago Today

It occurred to me this morning that I could not remember what I was doing on this date one year ago. If I know me, I was probably worried that I had everything done, everything ready, and making sure Jase was going to be okay while Jason and I were away for a couple nights. I do remember not being scared or nervous that my life was about to change in a big way. I was no longer going to be the mother of one little boy, but two. I honestly was not scared. If anything, I went into motherhood for the second time a little confident. I was confident that I could handle anything from late night feedings to sharing my love evenly between the boys. Little did I know this new little boy was going to throw every curve ball my way!

Today, I sit here and wonder why I was not scared! Why was I not scared to have TWO boys? I was just getting the hang of one boy when God blessed me with another! Today, I remember the excitement I felt as I was awaiting the arrival of our baby. I remember the excitement of not knowing what to expect from having two boys. I suppose this is what kept the fear at bay.

Tomorrow my Coley turns 1! Today I will spend making final preparations to make his day special. His birthday cake is ordered and tonight after he goes to bed we'll put out balloons. Tomorrow is going to be great!

I am going to quit crying...for now!

The Crying Boy...and Mom!

At the playground:

"Who's kid is that?"
Me: "That crying kid over there?" "Oh, he's mine."

No, this conversation did not happen, but it could have.

We get to the playground today and Jase starts crying. Why? Because some girl took a shovel away from him. "Jase get over it, find something else to play with." He eventually gets over it after a few threats that we're going home if he doesn't stop crying. Jase plays some more, I chase Cole around and try to keep him out of the street, but like a dog, Cole would rather play in the street. I decide the playground is for the birds, my nerves can't take all the craziness, and I round up my children. Yep, you've got it...more tears! Cry, Cry, Cry. I could not get inside fast enough. I swore we would never go to the playground again...more tears!

I never want to go to the playground again, never! But I know that I'll be there many, many more times in the future. So, I've promised myself I will only go back as long as I know I have a nice, cold, relaxing beverage waiting for me when I return! Hey, with a promise like that, I could end up loving our trips to the playground...HA!

Randomness

First off, we are still in the process of moving. We are pretty much all moved in, but we've still got a bunch of little crap to get out of the old place. I'm thinking of leaving all that crap there. I haven't needed it in 3 days, nor have I missed, so chances are I don't need it! Now, I am wondering what the heck is the crap that is still in the old apartment?? Who knows?!

Anyway, we'll be in Oklahoma in 2 weeks...YAY! I have a feeling our time there is going to be crazy busy, but I am still ready to go home. We'll be heading to Louisiana from Oklahoma, can't wait to get down there and have myself a sno-ball...I can't wait!

Finally, this weekend is Cole's Happy 1st Cake Cake (birthday!)!! I so cannot wait to see what he does with his very own cake! Getting a little teary eyed thinking of my last baby turning one, but I'm saving it for Saturday!

I leave you with this: Why, when you (I) sit down to eat, does your (my) child (Jase) need to poop? Why?? Fun, fun times around here!!

Moving...again!

That's right, we're packing boxes and taking pictures off the wall. Only this time we're just moving to the other side of housing...into a 3 BEDROOM!!!! We've been in our horrible, umm I mean lovely, two bedroom apartment for almost 10 months and I cannot get moved out of here fast enough! We've been going full speed since 7:00am and we're making progress. Jason's mom made the trip up here to help us out, she has been great help!

When I return to you I'll be updating you from our spacious 3 BEDROOM!!!!!! (it's kind of sad how excited i get about 3 BEDROOMS!, don't you think??!)

Back to work! More later!

Happy Mother's Day!

These two make every day worth living, however they can also make the days seem endless! Regardless...oh, how blessed I am to be their mommy!

Squeaky Shoes!

Cole put on his Pip Squeakers today! These shoes are a little noisy but cute, and they make it easy to keep track of the little pip squeaker! At first, Cole wasn't sure of where the squeaks were coming from, but he quickly figured it out! It was fun watching him walk around!

**I put shorts on the boys today because I am so ready for summer. I figure if we can't get outside in shorts, we might as well wear them inside!**

Time Well Spent

Well, my two week break from school flew by...as expected. I achieved most of the goals I had set for myself:

Invitations?...check!

Bedroom clean?...check!

Time spent with the boys?...check!

Did I relax?...Double check!! (i managed to get 9 hours of sleep on more than one occasion!!)

Mother's Day gift?...umm...not so much.

I did not get the Mother's Day gifts completed. I did attempt to start, but got sidetracked on more than one occasion. So I have resorted to a different gift. Hope the grandmother's will be happy with a card and a phone call for the time being.

Anyway, we were fortunate enough to get to the beach this week! I even got a little sunburn on my shoulders. Only wish the sun could have found my white legs, but no such luck! The boys loved playing in the sand, and yes, Cole ate it! But he didn't seem to enjoy it as much this time. It was a little windy so we got pelted with the sand a couple times but it was a pleasant afternoon. No, we didn't get in the water. Even though it was 90 degrees outside the water was still a bit chilly! I'm not even sure we'll be getting in that water when it is warmer. We enjoyed the sun and the sand. I think we brought most of the sand home with us!

Cole (covered in sunscreen) not really sure about all this!

The kids dug a hole, and Cole found it! He wasn't too happy!

Jase shoveling the sand and sporting his LSU cap!

Jase stayed very busy the whole time!

After falling into the hole, Cole opted for sitting and filling the bucket!

After looking at these pictures...my boys need to get some sun!! Well, honestly we all do! Looking at pictures of last summer, we all had a nice golden tan!

July 2008...Just after leaving South Texas on our way to New York.

We've been indoors too long!

In other news, the busy season is fast approaching us. My classes are back in full swing, we're preparing for a move across base (i am still questioning when and if this will actually happen), we're gearing up for 1 of 2 trips back South, and planning Cole's 1st birthday party! Busy, fun times await us! We can't wait!
