Jase has been diligently practicing tying his shoe laces. Thankfully Jason remembers the song or story or whatever it is that teaches kids to tie their shoes because I did not remember. I was ready to go out and by a book for Jase but Jason took care of the lesson!
Jase wants to tie his own shoes every time we are going somewhere. This can be somewhat time consuming because I am almost always running late. Anyway, on this particular day I had Jase get his shoes on way before it was time to leave and a few five minutes later I hear him excitedly calling for me. I walk into his room to find this...

I was so proud of him I had to run and get my camera. This was definitely a "first" I had to document. Jase was so proud of himself that he had to call daddy at work to let him know that their hard work at paid off! I wasn't able to photograph Jason's happiness but I did catch Cole's happiness. He was a proud little brother this day...

Underneath that stinky binky he is smiling from ear to ear.
Jase still needs help here and there with tying his shoes but he always wants to try and do it himself first. Like I said, time consuming, but well worth the time as this is just another step toward independence. Yes, another bittersweet milestone but mostly sweet.
I leave you with this...
Way to go Jase!!! Those boys are just too cute!
