We have been sick. Sick. Sick. Sick. Sick. This week has not been fun at all.
Monday: It all began with Cole waking up in the middle of the night (which is nothing new), coming into our room (another nothing new) covered in vomit. Yes, this was fun to discover in the dark as I was picking him up to put him into bed with us (i am known to do this once in a while ;)). So we get him cleaned up only to have him vomit again only this time it was into Jason's hands. This scene was priceless. Jason so badly did not want to clean up more vomit that he caught the banana and chocolate pudding filled vomit in his hands. Oh, by the way, this post could get a little graphic! Jason totally wins the Dad of the Year award hands down!
Anyway, Tuesday consisted of me cleaning vomit and diarrhea. Not much else was accomplished this day as Cole was extra clingy. I did not mind at all sitting on the couch all day holding my baby.
Wednesday was spent changing diapers and using more Butt Paste than ever before. I came home from spin class Wednesday night to the news of Jase throwing up. He requested blue Gatorade so I made a run to CVS. Jason and I spent the night taking care of Jase and at some point we found ourselves making half hour trips to the bathroom. Oh joy, we had been infected with the bug too. So Jason and I got zero sleep on Wednesday night between taking care of Jase and what seemed like our endless bathroom trips. Don't worry I will not be going into any graphic descriptions concerning me or Jason. :)
Thursday. Ah, Thursday. Not a good day. That's all I've got to say about that.
Friday was much better than Thursday. I was really ready for some real food. So ready that I put out an S.O.S call to Grams requesting she bring us some food. No go. Jason put out an S.O.S call to Nana requesting food. A no go there. Apparently living 24 hours away from your parents is not a good thing when you are ill and have no energy to cook food for your family. It was worth a try. We really did not expect them to jump on a plane and come take care of us. Or did we?
That brings us to today, Saturday. We all have our energy back. The boys are back to annoying each other and Jason and I. We managed to cook a meal last night and are looking forward to getting out of this apartment today. I have not left this place since Wednesday. It's time to get some fresh air. Past time. Way past time. The boys are still battling diarrhea. They want food that will do nothing good for the diarrhea. We have used almost an entire tube of Butt Paste and have gone through countless diapers and wipes. I managed to do more laundry than one person should do in an entire day and everything than can be has been wiped down with Clorox wipes and doused with Lysol. I am determined to kill this nasty little bug that has invaded my home.
Oh, about the Pedialyte. The boys are not fans. Not even in Popsicle form. I am not a fan either. The purple Popsicle stains the carpet. Thanks to the bug and Pedialyte Popsicle I have a nice purple stain right in front of my couch.
Hope you enjoyed the recap of our not so fun week. Here's hoping you do not have days like these.
More later.
