Sleepless in NY

I sit here this morning before my laptop at my dinning room table with blood shot eyes, headache, and a tall, tall cup of joe.

It has been a long night. 4 hours of sleep.

I do not have blood shot eyes because of a long night partying it up. My headache is not the punishment given from one too many drinks, and my lack of sleep is not from staying up all night having the time of my life.

No, no. I have a little 20 month old boy named Cole to thank for the blood shot eyes, headache, and lack of sleep. Oh, the wonderful things motherhood will do for a girl. Thank you Coley, mommy knows you love her. However, just wait until you are 15 years old and want to sleep non stop...IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN.

Ok, so I am lost and at 3:00am this morning I was searching the Internet for information. I want to know why my sweet baby boy will not sleep in his new toddler bed (we now have an actual toddler bed, no more crib in this house) or sleep in his brother's bed. This kid wants to sleep everywhere but where he is supposed to. Anyway, I read over at BabyCenter.com last night (i think it was more like this morning) that toddlers will do exactly what Cole is doing when they ARE NOT ready to be in a big bed. What?? We don't have a crib anymore. He climbed out of his crib. Thank you BabyCenter for this information. Please tell me what I am supposed to do now. I went to sleep thanking God that Cole was finally (hopefully) asleep at last and wondering if I should find a replacement crib or if I should just give up and let him sleep wherever he lays his little head down.

The last I looked at the clock it was 3:30am. And I was awaken by two little men in our room at 7:15am. Seven freaking fifteen in the morning. Are you kidding me?

So here I sit now needing a refill and watching Cole run around full speed with the energy of a someone who had gotten 12 hours of sleep.

What do to? When will the Jarrell Bedtime Wars end??

  2. Isabelle does/did the same thing, she typically wants to lay down on the sofa and not in her bed....so I let her :) Then put her in her bed after she is snoozing. Sorry you are having trouble, but don't worry! You will figure it out soon enough!
